Species Image Galleries

This site has photographic images available for 65 of the 98 frog species currently recognized as occuring in the Malay Penisula, with a total of 655 images organized into 153 series. An "image series" consists of a set of related images: different views or angles of the same individual taken at the same time and place; a courtship, breeding, feeding, or some other sequence of behaviors/natural history; etc. Each of the image series is presented in a separate gallery, and thus, each species for which images are available may have one to several galleries associated with it, with each gallery showcasing one to several images.

The Species Image Index below provides a list of all the species for which images are available, as well as links to each of the individual image galleries available for that species. You can also use the navigation menus on the left to access the image galleries of the species covered by this site. This menu provides systematically-hierarchized access to the accounts and galleries of each species, and is available throughout the Species section of this site. Alternatively, you can use the Species Index to quickly locate a species of interest, or to provide an overview of the image coverage. If you cannot find the species that you are looking for, you might want to try searching this site for the species, or refer to the Species Synonym Index to see if the species that you have in mind is masquerading under a different name. If you do not have any particular species in mind, you could try browsing through all the species images, which is also a good way to identify a frog that you have seen or have photographed.

From each of the image gallery pages, if you wish to learn more about the species, you can easily get to an extensive discussion of that species by going to the corresponding species account by using the links near the top of the page.
